The World Trade Organization established a panel last week to rule on Japanese accusations that Ontario, Canada's feed-in tariff program for renewable energy facilities violates WTO trade agreements.

That's the idea behind several developments to harvest a vehicle's kinetic energy and turn drive-through lanes, parking lots and roadways into mini-power plants.
